Microsoft UI has officially entered the realm of self-parody.
I think I’d find another occupation if I had to work on Windows.
Edit: My views on this do not extend to the magnificent design work going into other parts of Windows.
Seriously what were thinking including this trash in the explorer UI. Thank god there are alternate explorer programs. I might even have to write one after windows 8. This looks awful.
What does the View tab do, isn’t that what I’m doing now, viewing files? Share is there like some kind of special sharing nexus that windows 8 taps into, or is the the standard network neighborhood style bullshit, or worse homegroups. Lesson be told you know you’ve fucked up when only 60% of the visible space is looking at files. Fucked up thing is it doesn’t even have the ability of doing things like having two folders open at the same time with tabs, or split view.
WHAT DOES EASY ACCESS DO? If I don’t understand a button when looking at it on the front pane, you are designing it wrong. It’s obviously not important enough to take up the valuable visual space that I will be using. I do need a button the size of my thumb to copy and paste. I mean are people really having a hard time grasping the whole drag and drop procedure with the MOVE TO BUTTON. Have you done any statistical models for percentages of the population that struggle with the drag and drop procedure, because they’ll probably be dead by the time you finally roll out windows 8.
